A design and creative-retail precinct inside Msheireb Downtown Doha, run by Msheireb Properties alongside Qatar Museums’ neighbouring M7 hub — home to the Design Doha Biennale and a growing cluster of galleries, studios and concept stores. We’re building our on-the-ground coverage now.

Art Fair Art Basel Qatar The fair’s debut edition landed across M7 and Msheireb in February 2026, eighty-seven galleries from thirty-one countries curated around Wael Shawky’s theme of Becoming.

Design Biennial Design Doha Qatar Museums biennial for design across the MENASA region, returning to M7 for its postponed second edition this winter, chaired by Sheikha Al Mayassa and directed by Glenn Adamson.

Design Hubs & Retail

M7Qatar Museums’ design and fashion hub — galleries, concept store, co-working and an incubator; opened November 2021.
Liberty Home, DDDThe first international Liberty Home showroom and café concept, opened October 2025.
Personage StoreConcept store carrying local Qatari designers.

Galleries & Studios

SANAD – DOHAGallery co-founded by Fahad Monjid, marking its second anniversary in 2026.
Mada and SadaA creative platform and exhibition space launched June 2026, with identity design by Pentagram.
Liwan Design Studios and LabsQatar Museums maker space for pottery, leatherwork and digital prototyping, housed in Banat El Doha, Qatar’s first girls’ school.

Wider Context

Design Doha BiennaleQatar Museums’ flagship design biennial, hosted in the district. First edition ran Feb to Aug 2024 with the exhibition “Arab Design Now.”
Art Basel QatarInaugural edition held nearby in February 2026, 87 galleries from 31 countries — adjacent to, not part of, Doha Design District proper.

Worth knowing: Doha Design District and M7 are related but distinct — DDD is run by Msheireb Properties, M7 by Qatar Museums — though the two sit side by side in Msheireb Downtown Doha and are frequently cross-promoted together. We’ll keep this distinction clear as our coverage develops.
