Why Clare Gaskin Interiors is in the Design 100
Clare Gaskin founded her practice in 2009, the year she completed her training at KLC School of Design after an earlier career at Sotheby’s, and has built it since into one of south-west London’s steadiest presences in residential interiors. That consistency shows most clearly in the House & Garden Top 100 Interior Designers list, where she has held a place every year since 2021, a run of five years rather than a single strong one.
The work itself avoids a signature house style in favour of interiors built around how a client actually lives, developed by a deliberately small team working alongside trusted architects and craftspeople. That approach carried through to the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour’s WOW!house showcase in 2023, where Clare Gaskin translated a domestic, collected sensibility into a single exhibition room. Liveable rather than performative is the point: rooms built to be used well, which is exactly the discipline the Design 100 exists to recognise.
