Charu Gandhi trained as an architect at the Architectural Association, qualifying with RIBA and ARB, before working at Allies & Morrison, where she contributed to the London 2012 Olympics masterplan. She then joined developer Candy & Candy’s private commissions team, running an international portfolio of villas and residences across India, Africa and One Hyde Park. Founded in 2015, Elicyon carries that architectural training into interiors, treating each room as a structural problem first and layering in the bespoke joinery, textiles and craft that give its projects their scholarly, unhurried finish.
The studio has since completed more than ninety projects across fifteen countries, from seven apartments at One Hyde Park to a beachfront house in Kuwait and residences across India, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Elicyon avoids a fixed house style, letting each brief and site set the material language, and its work has been shortlisted across the International Design & Architecture Awards and named in the LuxDeco 100 for several years running.
