Sharan Pasricha founded Ennismore in 2011, opening The Hoxton in Holborn as an answer to the impersonal hotels he could find nowhere else to stay in London. The brand’s mix of considered design, generous ground-floor social space and accessible pricing set a template that scaled: Gleneagles followed in 2015, and by 2021 the group had grown enough to enter a joint venture with Accor, bringing Mondrian, SLS, Hyde, 25hours and Mama Shelter into a combined portfolio that has since passed 200 hotels worldwide.

What distinguishes the group is that design sits at the centre of the business rather than at the end of it — each brand works with its own architects and studios rather than a single house style, and Pasricha has continued to develop smaller, personally led projects such as Estelle Manor alongside the wider portfolio.
