Why Pierre Yovanovitch is in the Design 100

Pierre Yovanovitch built his reputation on precision rather than noise. Since founding his Paris practice in 2001, he has applied something close to couture discipline to interiors: bold, sculptural silhouettes, confident colour, and furniture treated as objects in their own right rather than filler. That approach was recognised outright in 2019, when Wallpaper* named him Designer of the Year for a body of work spanning private houses, hotels and his debut furniture collection, and Architectural Digest placed him in that year’s AD100 — a list he has returned to since.
