A record, not a ranking
No entry form, no vote
Most industry hundreds are built from press coverage, social reach or open nomination, and reset every January. This one runs differently: selection rests on sustained work, generosity with time and access, and a body of work strong enough to stand as its own record.
It only grows
Each edition is additive rather than a replacement. The 2026 list stays live in full when the 2027 Design 100 is announced, so the archive grows year on year instead of starting again from zero.
Permanence is the point
A place on this list is not a single mention that scrolls past in a feed. It stays part of the record, and reflects an ongoing relationship with the site rather than a one-off feature. Numbers follow the order of selection, not a ranking.
